My work explores resilience, I am fascinated by thought processes and eco systems and why we find ourselves facing a climate emergency.

I work with abstracted, organic shapes to place us within the natural environment and build up translucent layers of ink, paint and collage to form an holistic viewpoint. This is important as it is a complex myriad of systems, interconnections and interactions which form the culture and environment which forms us. The painted layers hold the tension of these visible, hidden and invisible ‘factors’ at play and create a glimpse of what it feels like to be utterly fragile and utterly powerful in the same breath. To hold the future in my arms and know the future might not exist, to recognise the cycles of intergenerational trauma that infiltrate society and contaminate my words and actions, to live among the natural world yet be severed from it’s wisdom; to view it all holistically is to view from a place of empathy and understanding. My work is a release valve for the intensity I experience mothering in this time of immense change and a subtle call to action to make the changes needed to move into a place of hopeful regeneration and resilience.

I fully embrace regenerative ideologies in my working practice, they inform the materials I choose to work with to the words I put out into the world. I feel deeply that they contribute to creating equitable, resilient and restorative systems for society and our planet to co exist now and in the future.
