Rummage
Establishing a culture of re-use amoingst students and staff at Glasgow School of Art.
Beginning in 2014 this work responded to a need to house vast volumes of ‘waste’ acumulated through students living in halls of residence, and engage an incoming cohort with a culture of reuse and exchange.
I designed the space through grouping ; visualising and contextualising the sheer volume of objects that are usually disposed of. Grouping them next to factual signs of waste figures created a powerful visual message.
Over the course of 3 years Rummage diverted 45 tonnes of waste from landfill.
